Why hello there!

I’ve been noticing a lot of new people joining this forum, which is amazing!

So, this would be my fourth big post... what do you think it’s about?
Maybe I should stop asking for this... It's always in the title, so I have to do this small text thing...

You Guessed it! (More like you voted for it!) 4 of you, anyway...

WEAPONS

What an enormous topic! So much we don't know...
And because of that, most of the content in this post is only theory based off of close analysis.
That being said...

Let's Get into it!
HytaleWeapons1.jpg

This is the first concept art picture for weapons. So, to break it down,
-Trork Cleaver (possibly made out of copper)
-Ethereal Dagger (very cool looking)
-Toothy barbed club
-Ruined Runic Sword (most likely found in underwater ruins)
-Three staffs, which appear to have a stone in the cradle, possibly essential for the magic used. They also look biome specific.
-Daggers, made out of different minerals, this implies that most, if not all, minerals can be crafted into a tool or weapon
-Wands. This was a surprise. They appear to be less elemental like the staffs and appear to by emitting that stereotypical magic effect.
What does this mean? Well this proves that you can find area-specific weapons, that minerals are an essential component, and magic is even more complicated than before! Next image!
HytaleWeapons2.jpg
Okay then... That's a lot. Something to note here is that, since it looks unorganized, it's most likely just thoughts crammed into a page, so some things may not make it into the game. Anyway...
In this image we see many variations of axes, battle-axes, maces, shields, swords, staffs, and trolls with prosthetic clubs!
It looks mostly like variations of iron and gold weapons. There's also that.. Interesting barrel-mallet with... um... ogre ears?
This one seems to fit the best definition of concept art.
One notable thing is the purple mace and axes in the top right corner. This is either from a purple mineral or has void powers. Or both! Who knows, maybe the minerals contain the magical essence? Anyways...

Moving on, we see this armory image taken from the UI blog post. But wait, another image from that post shows the inventory/crafting screen...
C56295A8-3DBB-47C9-9F00-D6EE5080D581.jpeg
Hmmm.... So the armory is potentially the UI of the anvil, while the crafting is from the weapon bench... Well, the weapon bench is clearly used to craft up the weapons, but the armory is used for...?
Maybe we can figure that out by the caption that goes with the image:
04E5BB8A-50FF-4E03-9706-850DE9AA3297.jpeg
So. First thing, before I get too involved, we see that, in the armory, you also have the armor tab, but not in the crafting. This is clearly due to the fact of it being a weapon bench (only for weapons) versus an armory (even has armor in the name!). Also, it looks like the armory has a couple more weapons than the bench, such as daggers.
Alright, here we go...

Time to dive in! So, you craft the weapons in the weapon bench, and they start out with whatever stats are applied initially. Then, it appears you can improve those stats with the armory. How do you do this? Well, by my speculation, there are three possible ways. Way one: you can take a recipe for two or more related items and combine them together. I think that the book stack symbol:
25946149-2744-43B7-B47E-F1E25077DBEA.jpeg
Is most likely-Oh wait... that’s... not a stack of books....
...
Well that was embarrassing... um, so what I meant to say was that that image is a stack of materials, either wood or metal, and it’s probably used to either repair broken gear, or increase the stats. You most likely need the same material(s) that the gear is made from.
So back to the original point (since this last one was actually technically #2), the caption says that you can discover new recipes and combine them. I take this to mean you can put a recipe for a long iron sword with a sharp gold sword, and boom, you’ve got a sharp iron-gold longsword recipe.
The third possibility is for minerals. I said in my mineral speculation post that the stones may be used for sharpening a blade, or applying some quality to it. Well, that locked icon may be just that. You could either fix the durability with a sharpening rock, or maybe give it fire properties with a ruby. This is the least likely option.
But while we’re on the topic of fire swords...

Alright, so we’ve got some nice tool tips here. It looks like the common RPG tier level of common-rare-epic-legendary. There’s also the attack, DPS (damage per second), speed, use age information, weapon type, and durability, at the bottom right.
As for the armor, the stats most resemble the amount of protection, and then, possibly the added perks of extra health and attack. This gives the possibility of armor giving other perks as well.

So, since these are the only stats shown, there’s no confirmed information for any other weapons, however, we can infer based on what we already have. The two-handed weapons are slow to swing, with a low DPS.
We can also assume that there will be a weapon for every of the 6 elements (fire, water, wind, lightning, earth, and void), and that means a fire sword, mace, axe, and even staff (as seen in the trailer, along with an ice staff) but that’s just a guess. The demonic axe could be using void magic.
The main point of the image, is that, not only armor, but also weapons, can affect the player’s own stats, and so we can expect this in other weapons as well.

So, that’s it. Yup, hopefully this helps you all out.
If I missed anything (which I probably did) or if you want to add to something I said, feel free to!

Whew... that was a long post...
