I post this thread because I've seen past posts and I'm pretty sure we all know what the answer is. But I just wanted to have something definitive that the team can look at and decide for themselves.
I'm not saying Hytale should copy Minecraft and use "redstone" but maybe something like it.
What say you? Yay or Nay?

A Redstone-like system should definitely have a place in Hytale.

Just now thought of the idea of having some sort of simple redstone system for beginners. But as they move on in the game they can have the option to use a more advanced system like those from Minecraft mods
Credit for this idea goes to a fella on Reddit Screenshot_20200405-134752(1).png

Luckily, as with pretty much any question about what will be in Hytale, there’s a guarantee that if it’s not there, someone will make a mod for it.

I think there should be no lt be stuff like red stone unless there are any steampunk villages but there could be levers pulleys and that stuff

Well I’m hoping for something similar to redstone that works in the form of wires or something of the sort. Maybe there will be a mod that adds it, In not sure though.

A machinery / logic mechanic would be a great fit for Hytale. It should be relatively simple, because then all the machinery - tech mods could base their systems on the simple existing one, which will be easy cross-compatibility.

If thy Hytale devs don't have something like this, I already planned out a very good idea for a simple electricity mod that others can use as a base. In the process of planning this mod I've learned so much about electricity, especially power grids. I'd like to strike a nice balance between realistic and intuitive design, so people can learn things from my mod, but without giving them headaches.

I do think Hytale should feature some simple but advanced and extensible wiring mechanic like redstone, but maybe with a lower barrier of entry. Maybe like blocks with controllable output directions by right-clicking, something simple like that, but with additional more advanced mechanics analagous to observers in Minecraft for more experienced users.

As others have stated, Hytale should include a simple electrical system. The parts should be simple: no complex, single-block machines! But, you should be able to make Turing-complete logic. You should be able to create machines that move and interact with blocks. I also think it would be great to combine this with an energy system. Nothing comes for free. If Hytale does not include some form of electricity system, many many players will stick with Minecraft and not migrate. There is a significant investment of time with this kind of game, and many players love the technical.
