Question How will the public play Hytale?

So we can all assume that there will be a beta for Hytale. But that leaves us with many questions. When is the beta? Who can participate in the beta? Do you have to buy the game in order to participate in beta? Will the account system work similar to Minecraft with IGN's and accounts linked to a purchase?

What do you guys think?

I'd be okay with buying the game to participate in beta. It shows a willingness to invest from the players side, instead of having tons of people just jumping in because it's free.

If it doesn't require purchase, I'd at least expect beta invites would be sent in waves. Smaller numbers at first eventually leading to an open beta.

I think it would have more of an influence over everyone should it be free. However, I am quite worried about Apex Legends since it has apparently dethrowned Fortnite. Hytale is the last hope to this Sandbox community, heck even the music in the trailer sounds like a return to me! So excited. As for your question, I would probably buy it either way.

Minecraft got away charging for the game - I think, even if it does cost, Hytale will be successful and gain a lot of traction. If it ends up being free it might become a bigger game, but there's a risk of micro-transactions being added (which not everyone likes).

Before speculating about whether the beta will be F2P or P2P we first need to know if the game will be F2P or P2P. I think it will be pay to play but I don't think the beta will be p2p since they probably want to get as many bugs fixed by as many people possible.

I agree with that, which makes me wonder if those people will get it for free? Or their accounts will be locked until the pay when the game actually releases.

I feel like it's going to be private beta at first then public beta.
