Hi
It would be boring if items had durabilities, they'd break after some time of use.
So what about reforging items or sharpening and smithing.
For example, when a pickaxe starts to go out, it will start mining slower and slower. What you need to do is to go the anvil or forge.. and smith it with some items or just hammer it and it will be good as new again until next forging.

For swords, there could be sharpness decrease. You'd need a anvil for better swords and maybe just a campfire for weakers swords and when forging it, it will gain it's sharpness back.

It would be too much minecraft like, when gear had the same durability system + it adds more adventurous feeling to it, sitting next to a campfire, fixing your sword for you next quest.
Awesome..

Actually. This sounds like a good idea. Tho Hytale should have both in my opinion. Fixing your tools and making new if it breaks. Just for the extra challenge.

In a clip where a character is Hammering a sword, and the intro scene in the Hytale Trailer where a character is using a "Whetstone" on a sword. "Whetstones" are used to sharpen swords and other weapons. There also should be an option for people to be able to turn item durabilities on/off.

Overall:
Sharpening = Likely - Guarenteed
Smithing = Unlikely - Likely
