I can definitely say they are when looking at the Caves & Cliffs Update. The Warden mob in Minecraft looks and moves a lot like an enemy from Hytale. The new cave biomes and mountains also look inspired by Hytale's. It's all about staying relevant with competition, which Mojang are fully aware of.
