Staff Applications: Formatting Guidelines
So you're interested in becoming a staff member at Hytale Hub?
On this page, we'll answer some frequently asked questions and provide you with everything we're looking for in an applicant so that you can better organize your application to meet our standards.
How do I format my application?
The format varies based upon the position that you're applying for. Please be sure to use the appropriate format when applying.
For Helpers:

Note: It is extremely uncommon to be accepted as a moderator without having first worked as a helper for an extended period of time. For this reason, we strongly suggest applying as a helper first instead if you've never been a member of the Hytale Hub Staff team before.

Staff Applications: Approval Process
After your application is submitted, it may take anywhere from 24 - 72 hours for us to review it, and decide whether or not your skills line up with our current needs. If we feel that you'd do well as a potential Staff Member at Hytale Hub, we will then move on to the next step, which is an interview in a VC (Voice Chat) on Discord.
You will receive a friend request from one of our Staff Members (Either Pearson Wright, Overlord, Billy, or Doblox) depending upon the position that you're applying for. You will then be added to a private Hytale Hub Interviewee Discord server.
Don't be nervous about this - we totally understand that not everyone is comfortable in voice chats and we're very understanding.
Finally, we'll perform a background check - this is where we carry out an extensive amount of research into your online presence, twitter accounts, history, etc. If we see anything we don't like - we'll give you a chance to explain yourself or ask you to remove the content and reapply.
If you're able to nail the initial application process, and the interview, and your reputation is in good standing, it's likely that you'll soon be on your way towards joining us as an official Hytale Hub Staff member!
Staff Applications: Basic Requirements
We have a handful of basic/non-negotiable requirements to ensure that all staff members are able to effectively communicate with the community as well as other staff members.
Requirements:
- You must be at least 16 - We look for a certain level of maturity in Hytale Hub Staff members and expect you to be able to handle situations in a mature manner. To ensure this level of maturity, we do not accept applicants under the age of 16.
- You must have a microphone - In order to complete the application process, you must complete a voice interview - we also use microphones for staff meetings and discussions.
- You must have a Hytale Hub account - In order to create an application, you must have an account at Hytale Hub. You cannot apply solely for a Staff position on our Discord server.
- You must have a Discord account - Discord is our primary communication platform for Staff discussions, meetings, etc. We also handle the Voice interviews on Discord. It is therefore a requirement that you own a Discord account in order to apply for a position at Hytale Hub.
Staff Applications: Tips and Advice
- In general, the higher up the position is, the less vacancies there are. For example, applying for a moderator or managerial position will always be far harder than applying for the role of Helper. This in part due to the fact that we need to be able to trust you and see how you perform before bestowing all of the permissions and obligations that come with being a moderator. For this reason, unless you are applying as a developer, content creator, or GFX artist, we strongly advise that you apply first as a Helper instead of a Moderator or a Manager in order to increase the likelihood of having your application accepted.
- One of the main factors that we take into consideration when reviewing and interviewing potential Staff members is his or her familiarity with our website, and all of its various features and functions. Be sure to familiarize yourself with as many facets of Hytale Hub as possible before applying in order to increase your chances of being accepted.
- While we are a nonprofit organization, and are essentially all volunteers, we still expect Hytale Hub Staff members to actively contribute on a consistent basis. Becoming a Staff member here is about more than having a cool badge. Even in the event of having your application accepted, this does not guarantee you a permanent position as a Staff member at Hytale Hub. If you become inactive, you could become subject to demotion, and reapplying may potentially become far harder after having demonstrated an inability to consistently perform the duties associated with the position that you applied for.
